Jesus is speaking to you in the Bible. He says: All is forgiven. I love you. Trust me.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

God’s Word

tells us absolute truth.

“Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth.” (John 17:17)

God’s Law

shows we all need Jesus.

“by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.” (Romans 3:20)

God’s Gospel

is that all are freely justified by faith.

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,” (Romans 1:16)

God’s People

live by faith that bears fruit in everyday living and evangelism.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

What happens on a Sunday?

10:00am we have some Brunch and chat.

10:30am is Divine Servicesee below for an explanation.

11:30am we enjoy Drinks, Snacks and chat

11:45am we have:

Bible Study — an open discussion about a passage of the Bible.

Children’s Sunday School — fun exploring of God’s Word.

12:15pm is the latest we usually finish, and we often take the opportunity to socialise with one another.

What is “Divine Service”?

Lutherans call our formal time together Divine Service because in this time God is serving us through Word and Sacrament. We:

—Say and hear words from the Bible to receive God’s forgiveness.
—Sing songs about themes in the Bible.
—Hear four passages of the Bible read out loud.
—Listen to an explanation of the Bible (15-20mins).
—Pray in response to the Bible.
—Members gather to receive the Lord’s Supper and visitors are welcome to participate by receiving a blessing.

Everything we say together is written down.
Nobody is required to participate.
Visitors are very welcome. You are free to join in or just watch.

Why do we call this “Divine Service”?

Calling this time a “Service,” “Worship Service”, or “Mass” can be confusing because these terms imply that we offer something to God when we meet together or serve Him in some way. But, the Lord is not “served by human hands, as though he needed anything” (Acts 17:25).
