Made to Receive, Not Achieve

You weren’t made to achieve.

God does not need anything from you.
You do not need to prove yourself to establish your value.
Your life is not something you build and secure.

If God did need something from you—then security depends on you.
If your worth were uncertain—then the weight of everything hangs on your shoulders.
If your life were unstable—then you must deliver and hold it together.

These beliefs are a false story all of us live inside. That’s why we’re anxious. It’s why we’re exhausted. It’s why our effort never feels enough.

But God didn’t make you—and Jesus didn’t die for you—to give him something. The Bible explains God’s motives and purpose toward you clearly:

so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:7)

You were made to receive, not to achieve. In Christ, everything is already given.

That’s why God created you. That’s why Jesus died for you. That’s what the Holy Spirit is working through God’s Word to give you.

Nothing you do establishes who you are.
You are given your identity freely in Christ
And because of that, God has a purpose for you as his child. Even now—a way to live as one who has received, not as one who needs to achieve:

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
